Birth Centre at Arnimplatz
MAJAs were sent by Artemis, the goddess of nature, as helpers to assist pregnant and birthing people. As this is what we also see as our calling, we decided to name our birth centre in Berlin MAJA.
Welcome
Being born and giving birth are decisive events in our lives. How newborns are welcomed and how this unique moment is experienced by everyone involved is of fundamental importance for our trust in the world and in ourselves. Consequently, security, self-determination and a calm atmosphere are essential for a positive experience and a good start in life. At our birth centre, we create a protective environment in which pregnant people and those accompanying them feel safe and supported.
Pregnancy
We provide advice on the upcoming birth and all recommended examinations during pregnancy as well as carry out all preventive services independently, with the exception of ultrasound examinations.
Birth
Our birth centre provides a familiar place where you can feel safe and secure. We midwives attend births with passion, the necessary expertise and evidence-based practice.
Postnatal Period
We support you in your experiences as parents and advise you on breastfeeding, nutrition, postnatal recovery, baby care and much more.
Our Mission
In our work as midwives, it is important for us to see pregnancy and birth as natural processes. Thanks to our many years of experience in clinical and non-clinical obstetrics, we have a wealth of experience. In addition, our work is characterised by a high degree of independence with a constant willingness to exchange ideas within the team.
Our team is characterised by competent personal and professional cooperation, mutual trust and respect, opportunities for reflection as well as accepting full responsibility for our work and the success of the birth centre.
Our Birth Centre
Since MAJA was founded in 1992, over 5,000 children have seen the light of day at the birth centre or at home. We have two cosy birth rooms, each with its own spacious tub and family bed. In both rooms we have a variety of equipment available for a self-determined birth with free choice of position.
The birth centre has had its own quality management system for many years, thus maintaining high operational standards and safety and providing statistical evidence of the quality of our work.

We offer prenatal classes for pregnant people and their companions.
Information Evenings
We invite you to our free information evenings twice a month, on Wednesdays from 6.30 to 7.30 pm.
